Top-ranked Texas handles its business in the NCAA Tournament opener, but Mac Morgan came within a two-out walk of becoming the 12th player in Texas history to throw a complete-game perfect game. It still hasn't been done since Miranda Elish pulled it off against New Mexico in 2020, and it hasn't been done in a NCAA Tournament game since Cat Osterman beat Mississippi State in 2005. Morgan did pick up the 55th no-hitter in program history.

Goode, a sophom*ore who started as a freshman, went 8-of-21 over the past two weeks while playing in place of Washington.
