All Smite characters

Arthurian gods

Taken from the ancient legends of England, with some French inspiration, the Arthurian gods of legend includes King Arthur himself, trusted knight Lancelot, and masterful magician Merlin.

The archaic tale of Gilgamesh from ancient Babylon tablets has two of its most famous warriors included in the Smite roster, with Gilgamesh and Tiamet both ready for battle.

  • Gilgamesh
  • Tiamet

Celtic gods

The Celtic gods come from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and parts of England, with a rich history of warring tribes and brutal practices. While they might not be as universally known as their Greek or Egyptian counterparts, Cu Chulainn, Cliodhna, and the rest of the Celtic pantheon know how to engage in the art of battle.

  • Artio
  • Cernunnos
  • Cliodhna
  • Cu Chulainn
  • The Morrigan

Egyptian gods

There are probably a few recognisable names on this list from your high school history classes, or time spent watching the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime in my case, but the full list includes some lesser-known legends like Eset, Geb, and Neith.

  • Anubis
  • Bastet

The most recently invented mythical character from the Smite character list is by far Ctuhulu, having only come into the world over 100 years ago as part of legendary horror writer H.P. Lovecraft’s world.

  • Cthulu

Do we really need to run you through the Greek gods? We actually might with this mammoth list of those included. Of course, all the big-hitters like Zeus, Hercules, and Medusa make an appearance, but there’s also some more mysterious mythical legends to meet in Charybdis, Arachne, and Scylla.

Smite characters - get to know the gods (7)

Hindu gods

Hailing from India, the Hindu contingent are some of the most extravagant in-game designs from the gods included in Smite. They also pack quite a punch, with Agni and Bakasura consistently coming high in Smite tier list rankings.

  • Agni
  • Bakasura
  • Ganesha
  • Kali
  • Kumbhakarna
  • Rama
  • Ravana
  • Shiva
  • Vamana

Japanese gods

The list of Japanese gods includes mythical monsters and legendary heroes that have been around before the age of the Samurai. If you spent any time playing Nioh or Sekiro in the last few years, you might know some of these gods, and if you don’t, they’re well worth acquanting yourself with.

  • Amaterasu
  • Danzaburou
  • Hachiman
  • Izanami
  • Kuzenbo
  • Rajin
  • Susano
  • Tsukuyomi

Mayan gods

If you’re looking for some colourful Smite characters, you can’t go far wrong with the Mayan gods, with their apocalyptic powers on full display in this MOBA. The Mayan contingent also includes an exclusive god of bees, Ah Muzen Cab, and you won’t find a much more ridiculous god on this list.

  • Ah Muzen Cab
  • Ah Puch
  • Awilix
  • Cabrakan
  • Camazotz
  • Chaac
  • Hun Batz
  • Kukulkan

Norse gods

Another group of recognisable gods is the Norse pantheon – shoutout to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for doing my job here – including Thor, Odin, Loki, and Jormungandr.

Polynesian gods

Pele, the deity of volcanoes and fire, is the sole representative of the Polynesian gods. She’s also the creator of Hawaii itself, so as well as having some serious battle prowess, she’s a dab hand at the limbo.

  • Pele

Roman gods

While in real terms they’re more like alternatives to the Greek gods, in Smite the Romans stand out on their own thanks to a generous amount of their characters included in the roster.

  • Bacchus
  • Bellona
  • Cupid
  • Discordia
  • Hercules
  • Janus
  • Mercury
  • Nox
  • Sylvanus
  • Terra
  • Vulcan

Slavic gods

Emerging out of ancient Eastern Europe, the Slavic gods are a lesser-known pair, but still worth checking out for Baba Yaga, the infamous child-eating nightmare myth that still frightens kids to this day.

  • Baba Yaga
  • Chernobog

Voodoo gods

Baron Samedi is from the Haitian history books, as well as being the primary inspiration for Dr. Facilier from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. He’s currently one of only twoVoodoo gods in the roster, but we’d love to see some more.

  • Baron Samedi
  • Maman Brigitte

Yoruba gods

Coming from the cultured history of the Nigerian Yoruba people, the Yoruba gods Olorun and Yemoja are the only Smite characters across the whole of Africa included in the roster.

  • Olorun
  • Yemoja

With that, you’re caught up on all the Smite characters across the whole roster. For more all-powerful arena battlers, be sure to check out our picks for the best MOBAs.
